Hi, and welcome. I’m Emma-Jane and the first thing you should know about me is that I genuinely love what I do and I’m really passionate about my work. So, why do I do what I do? Well, I was that parent…

I remember sitting on the kitchen floor at ten o’clock in the morning – with kids climbing all over me – crying my eyes out wondering how I would make it to lunch time, let alone dinner time and survive bath time to make it to bedtime… That was me, all those years ago. I was that parent. I’ve been there. I know what it can be like.
I now spend my days being the professional I wish I’d had access to back then. Someone who gets it. Someone who listens. Someone who believes. Someone who has lived it. Someone who survived it and came out the other side. Someone who wants to help.
Change is hard and my legacy is to give people access to all of the things I wish I’d known back then.
Yes, all behaviour is communication and yes, connection is more important than control. Yes, there are multiple factors that influence behaviour and as a professional I can (and do) talk about them all day long but the biggest change in our household wasn’t from my children changing their behaviour. It was from me changing mine.
So, what are my credentials?
1) I’m a single parent to four young people. I had four children in four years with twins in the middle. Needless to say it was a bit of a blur and in all fairness, life is still quite busy!
2) My employment background is education. I have worked in primary and secondary schools and worked in both mainstream and specialist settings. I was classroom based, identifying and supporting individual needs, designing education provisions (largely around a practical curriculum) and I have lots of experience successfully reintegrating students on a reduced timetable back into full-time education.
3) I have a Masters degree in Autism which is my specialist area although I advise and support behaviour generally with a focus on progress in day to day reality – not just on paper.
4) I’m trained in diagnostic assessments (ADOS & ADI-R) however I do not privately diagnose. I’ve also completed lots of training around ADHD, dyslexia, mental health, PDA, sensory processing, trauma and so much more! I recently completed Neuroscience and Mental Health qualifications with more training and certifications planned for 2025.
Thank you for taking a brave step and reaching out to me. I’m really looking forward to working with you!
